Activity

1. To start the activity, you must print the cards and the game board that are in the downloadable document.
Cut out the cards and the two parts of the game board.

2. Join the two parts of the board, using tape.

3. Don’t know how to play? It’s simple!
You need to get an ordered sequence of six cards, which allows you to make one of the paths represented on the game board. There are three types of playing cards that allow you to perform different movements:

Move Forward card, which allows the player to move one square forward.

Turn Right card, which allows the player to turn right and advance to the next square.

Turn Left card, which allows the player to turn left and advance to the next square.

4. Now that you know what each card means, you should read the game instructions before you start.

First, you must give six cards to each player. The remaining cards are placed face down in a deck on the table.

Study your cards and, depending on your movements (forward, turn right or turn left), secretly choose the path that is easiest for you. When it is your turn to play, you can perform one of the following actions:
If one of your cards does is not suited to complete the chosen path, you can exchange it, leaving it face up, next to the deck with the cards face down, and pick a new card from the deck.
If the last card rejected by the player who played before you can help you with your path, you can exchange it for one of your cards that don’t serve your purpose, and keep that discarded card, instead of picking a new one from the deck.

The aim is to have a six-card hand that creates a valid sequence to go through one of the paths present on the game board.

When a player has, in their hand, a sequence of cards that allows them to go through one of the paths on the board, they must place the cards face up on the table, so that the rest of the players can see them. These can be placed in the board’s own path, for easy verification. If the sequence is correct, the player will earn one point and they start another round.

While playing, you must have the Sequence up to 6 app open, as it will give instructions that everyone has to follow. For example, the app may tell you to exchange a card with another player, or that all players discard one or two cards. On each move, the app gives a command. This command applies to the player taking his turn, except when the app indicates that the command applies to all players.

To install the app on a mobile device with the Android operating system, ask an adult for help, and follow the steps below:

  1. Download or copy to the device the APK installation file found in the materials section.
  2. Open the file explorer and search for “Sequence_up_to_6.apk”
  3. Open the APK file. It is possible that during this process the file explorer will ask for permissions to install Apps from Unknown Sources and, if this happens accept. If you do not see this option, access the permission settings through the device settings.
  4. Once the installer is open, click INSTALL.

When you create a multimedia file (photo, video, audio, screenshot, etc.), it is stored in a folder. Each app has its own folder, which is created automatically. To see the files created in a specific app, access the gallery and click on the corresponding folder.

5. For example, to complete this path, the correct sequence of cards would correspond to that shown in the illustration.
